How We Help

Start with the problem. Not the training catalogue.

Every organisation is different. The situations managers face, the capability they already have, the policies they work within and the consequences of getting difficult conversations wrong can vary considerably.

Talk to us about your workplace challenge
Three ways to work with EES
01

The Human-First Response™ Workshop

Our flagship manager capability program.

A practical full-day workshop designed for managers and leaders who need to respond effectively when workplace situations become difficult, sensitive or potentially high-stakes.

The program gives managers a repeatable framework for handling situations where emotion is present, information may be incomplete and organisational responsibility still needs to be exercised.

SELF → PERSON → PROBLEM → PROCESS

Participants learn to manage their own reaction, understand the person in front of them, clarify what actually matters and make deliberate decisions about what should happen next.

The emphasis is practical: realistic scenarios, decisions, communication practice, competing perspectives and application under pressure.

Managers leave with language, tools and a structured way of thinking they can use in their next difficult conversation.

02

Tailored Manager Capability Programs

When the challenge is more specific.

Sometimes an organisation does not need an entirely different methodology. It needs the right capability applied to a particular problem.

Your managers may repeatedly struggle with a certain type of conversation, operate in a particular environment, or need additional capability in one part of The Human-First Response™.

EES can work with your organisation to understand that need and develop a targeted manager capability program within our areas of expertise.

We adapt the capability to the problem—not the EES methodology to every request.

What might a tailored program address?

A tailored engagement might be appropriate where an organisation is seeing recurring issues such as managers struggling to respond when employees disclose something serious, avoiding difficult accountability conversations, becoming defensive when challenged, moving into process too quickly, failing to communicate effectively once process begins, or handling particular categories of manager conversations inconsistently.

What behaviour needs to change? Once that is clear, we can work backwards to the capability required.

03

Manager Communication & Response Advisory

Sometimes the problem is bigger than a training day.

An organisation may have capable managers and established processes, but still experience recurring problems in the way difficult workplace situations are received, communicated, escalated or followed through.

EES provides selective advisory support around the human and manager-response side of those situations.

How are managers responding when concerns first arise?
Where are conversations breaking down?
Are managers clear about what sits within their role?
Are people being moved into process too quickly—or too slowly?
Are employees being left without clarity once a matter has been referred?
Are managers equipped to hold empathy and accountability at the same time?

The purpose is not to replace your HR, legal, WHS or specialist functions. It is to strengthen the manager capability and human response surrounding them.

Good organisational process still depends on good human delivery.

Not sure which approach you need?

You do not need to diagnose the solution before you contact us.

In fact, we would rather you did not.

Tell us what is happening in your organisation. Tell us what managers are experiencing. Tell us what you are seeing now—and what you would like to see instead.

EES can then determine whether the best response is The Human-First Response™ Workshop, a Tailored Manager Capability Program, Manager Communication & Response Advisory, or simply a conversation about whether EES is the right fit.

Start with the problem. We’ll work out whether we can help.
What EES brings

Practical. Human. Deliberate.

Human insight enables better judgement, clearer decisions and more effective organisational action.

Human connectionwith organisational responsibility
Empathywith accountability
Curiositywith judgement
Good communicationwith appropriate action

We are not interested in teaching managers to memorise polished phrases. We want them to understand why a response works, recognise when the situation has changed and choose their next action deliberately.

Designed around your environment

Context matters. The underlying capability remains consistent.

Before recommending or delivering an engagement, EES seeks to understand the organisation in which managers actually work.

That can include the participant group, recurring workplace situations, existing capability, organisational language, relevant referral pathways and the behavioural outcomes the organisation wants to achieve.

How an engagement begins

A useful conversation comes before a proposal.

The first step is a discussion about the challenge: what prompted the enquiry, who is involved, what managers currently do, where things tend to become difficult and what successful improvement would look like.

From there, EES can recommend an appropriate approach and outline the scope of the engagement.

Tell us what is happening. We can start there.
